Lebus Upholstery

Lebus Upholstery, which was established in 1840, has become one of the largest furniture manufacturers of UK produced upholstery, based in North Lincolnshire. We have a modern purpose-built 250,000 square feet factory supplying a wide range of furniture retailers across the UK and Ireland.

Pay: £12.71 per hour, rising to OTE £13.50 per hour

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Hours: 39 hours per week

  • Monday–Thursday: 6:30am–3:15pm
  • Friday: 6:30am–1:50pm

Location: Queensway Industrial Estate, Dunlop Way, Scunthorpe, DN16 3RN

We’re looking for an Experienced Sewing Machinist to join our skilled production team at Lebus Upholstery. This is a permanent opportunity within a well-established, employee-owned manufacturing business, offering stable hours and an early finish on Fridays.

All Lebus sofa frames are handmade on site, forming the foundation of the sofas and chairs that move through our factory to become finished furniture. Your expertise will directly impact the strength, longevity, and quality of our products.

What you’ll be doing

As Part Of The Sewing Team, You’ll

  • Operate industrial sewing machines to produce upholstery covers and components
  • Work with a variety of fabrics to meet specifications and quality standards
  • Follow patterns, templates, and instructions accurately
  • Ensure all stitching is neat, consistent, and aligned with quality expectations
  • Work efficiently to meet production targets
  • Identify and resolve minor faults or issues with materials
  • Maintain your work area in a clean, organised, and safe condition
  • Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across production

This Role Is Ideal For You If You

  • Have experience using industrial sewing machines
  • Have a strong eye for detail and quality
  • Take pride in producing accurate, high-standard work
  • Can work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Are reliable, practical, and hands-on
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Experience in upholstery or heavy fabric sewing is desirable but not essential.
