Role Description
This full-time, on-site Experienced Shop-Fitting Electrician role is based in Wakefield. The position involves installing, testing, and commissioning electrical systems for retail store fit outs and specialist medical environments, following design specifications and industry standards.

Daily Tasks

- Reading and interpreting drawings
- Routing and terminating cables
- Fitting lighting and power systems
- Carrying out fault-finding and repairs as needed
Responsibilities
- Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to deliver projects on schedule
- Include routine maintenance
- Respond to issues on active sites
- Uphold health and safety practices at all times
Additional Requirements
- Work night shifts
- Work up and down the United Kingdom
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills and knowledge in electricity and electrical work for commercial installations.
- Experience in maintenance & repair and troubleshooting of electrical systems in shop-fitting or similar environments.
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles relevant to design-and-build projects.
- Recognized electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) and up-to-date industry certifications.
- Proven experience as a commercial or industrial electrician, ideally in retail and medical fit outs.
- Familiarity with current electrical regulations and standards (e.g., BS 7671) and strong commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications with attention to detail.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
- IPAF qualification.
