Location: Knowsley Borough Council, Merseyside (Hybrid working available)

Salary: £42,839 – £44,070

Contract: Permanent

Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Knowsley Borough Council to recruit Experienced Social Workers to join their Children with Disabilities Teams.

Knowsley is a compact Merseyside authority where experienced practitioners are valued for the steadiness and judgement they bring, with accessible managers and teams small enough for people to know each other properly.

The Role

As an Experienced Social Worker within the Children with Disabilities Team, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of disabled children with a range of complex health and support needs.
  • Complete strengths-based assessments, including consideration of short breaks and support packages.
  • Build purposeful relationships with children, using creative approaches to capture their voice.
  • Work closely with families, schools, health colleagues, and adult services around transitions.
  • Ensure children with disabilities receive the same quality of safeguarding and care planning as all children.
  • Offer informal guidance and support to less experienced colleagues in the team.

About You

You will be an established practitioner with:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
  • Solid post-qualifying experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Confidence working with complexity, risk, and multi-agency partners.
  • A clear commitment to relationship-based and strengths-led practice.
