About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to join our supported living service, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex mental health needs.
This is more than a traditional support role. Alongside helping residents with practical day-to-day living, you’ll also play an important part in supporting emotional wellbeing, resilience, confidence, and recovery.
Some days are structured and steady. Others can be unpredictable, emotional, or challenging. We’re looking for someone who can stay calm, build trust, and provide consistent support that genuinely helps people feel safer, more stable, and more in control of their lives.
What You Will Be Doing
Person-Centred Support & Daily Living
- Support residents with daily living tasks including cooking, budgeting, personal care, appointments, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Develop and review person-centred support plans alongside residents and relevant professionals
- Encourage independence, confidence, and community engagement
- Maintain accurate records, daily notes, and incident reports

Wellbeing & Engagement
- Deliver 1:1 and group wellbeing sessions focused on emotional regulation, resilience, coping strategies, and self-esteem
- Support residents to identify goals and build structured wellbeing plans
- Use trauma-informed and psychologically informed approaches in everyday support
Safeguarding & Risk Management
- Monitor wellbeing and respond appropriately to concerns, incidents, and safeguarding matters
- Manage risk in a way that balances safety, dignity, and independence
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and organisational procedures at all times
Teamwork & Partnership Working
- Work collaboratively with mental health services, social workers, GPs, and other professionals
- Attend team meetings, reviews, and reflective practice sessions
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Minimum 1 years’ experience working within supported living or supported accommodation services
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults, particularly individuals with mental health needs or complex presentations
- Good understanding of safeguarding and risk management
- Knowledge of recovery-focused and strengths-based support approaches
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain professional boundaries
- A genuine, person-centred approach to support
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable
- Experience within residential care, or community support settings
- Psychology, counselling, or mental health related knowledge or training
- Experience managing challenging behaviour using trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques

Pay
Starting from £12.71 per hour, with the final rate dependent on experience.
Location
New Malden, Kingston upon Thames, KT3
