What is the job role?
Help children feel they belong, build confidence and make progress at John Gulson Primary School in Coventry. We are looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work primarily with pupils in Years 3 and 4. You will work closely with teachers to make learning accessible, support pupils in class and lead focused small group or individual work.
The role
- Support teaching and learning in a Year 3 or Year 4 classroom, adapting your approach to pupils’ needs.
- Lead small group interventions and provide individual support, using teacher guidance and assessment to help pupils progress.
- Build positive relationships and contribute to a safe, inclusive and engaging classroom.
- Observe and record learning, sharing useful feedback with the class teacher and working collaboratively with colleagues.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for:
- Experience of, or strong knowledge of, the Year 3 and Year 4 national curriculum.
- GCSE English and maths at grade C or 4 or above, or equivalent qualifications, and a high standard of spoken and written English.
- A calm, proactive and flexible colleague who builds positive relationships with children, families and staff.
- A strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and helping every child achieve and thrive.

What You Can Expect

Working Hours
- Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 8.30 am to 4.00 pm.
- Wednesday: 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
- Friday: 8.30 am to 3.30 pm.
