We are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our brand-new practice in Port Talbot. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a friendly, hardworking team from the very beginning and play an important role in helping us build a practice that delivers exceptional care to both patients and clients.

About Us

Our purpose-built, modern practice has been thoughtfully designed with both patients and colleagues in mind, featuring:

  • 4 consult rooms, including a shared X-ray room
  • Separate dog and cat waiting areas
  • Dedicated prep area and operating theatre
  • Dentistry suite
  • In-house lab, with digital X-ray and ultrasound planned
  • 8 cat kennels, 8 dog kennels, plus 2 walk-in kennels
  • Separate isolation ward
  • Spacious colleague area with shower facilities
  • Free parking and secure bike storage

We’ll also have the capacity to welcome visiting specialists, enabling us to keep more advanced care in-house.

Our Practice Owner, Rebecca, graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014 and brings extensive experience from both private practice and a busy PDSA hospital. Rebecca also holds a Certificate in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care, ensuring expert care for every patient. Beyond veterinary work, Rebecca serves as an on-call firefighter, bringing exceptional teamwork, resilience, and community spirit to the practice.

As an experienced Veterinary Receptionist, you will be a key part of the client care team, helping to create a welcoming and professional experience for every client and patient who walks through our doors. We can offer both full or part time hours and this role will include 1 in 2 Saturday mornings.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and building strong client relationships
  • Managing appointments, enquiries, and client communications
  • Supporting the veterinary team with day-to-day administrative tasks
  • Handling payments and maintaining accurate client records
  • Ensuring the smooth running of reception and front-of-house services
  • Working collaboratively with the wider practice team

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working within a veterinary reception or client care role
  • Is confident, organised, and able to manage a busy workload
  • Has excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Is compassionate and understands the importance of providing outstanding care
  • Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team and contributing to the growth of a new practice

Situated in Baglan, Port Talbot, our practice offers the perfect balance of convenience and lifestyle:

  • 7-minute walk to Baglan train station
  • Bus stop directly outside the practice
