Up to £70,000 FTE | Full-Time | No OOH | Flexible Working Considered

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role where you can enjoy a varied caseload, a supportive team, and a genuinely friendly working environment?

At Ely Vets for Pets, we’re looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our close-knit team of 2 Vets, 4 RVNs, and 3 Receptionists.

We’re a team who genuinely enjoy working together. Collaboration, support, and plenty of laughter are all part of everyday life here, and there’s usually chocolate in the staff room too!

Our practice combines the friendly, personal feel of a local clinic with the investment, benefits, and career opportunities that come from being part of one of the UK’s leading veterinary groups.

The Role

You’ll enjoy a varied first-opinion caseload, including routine consultations and surgery alongside the occasional emergency or more unusual case. You’ll be supported by our experienced nursing team and dedicated reception colleagues, allowing you to focus on providing excellent care to your patients and clients.

We’re looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:

  • Is confident working within first-opinion practice
  • Is comfortable with occasional sole charge
  • Enjoys being part of a collaborative and supportive team
  • Is passionate about providing excellent patient and client care

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
