Role Description
The Experienced Waterjet Machinist will operate and maintain OMAX waterjet cutting machines to produce high-precision components to customer drawings and specifications. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Setting up jobs

- Loading and securing materials

- Inspecting finished parts to ensure tolerances and quality standards are met

The role involves:
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Preparing CNC programs or cut paths
- Performing routine maintenance
- Maintaining accurate production and quality records
The machinist will collaborate with the production team to manage workflows, support efficient scheduling, and help achieve fast turnaround times.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Watlington, requiring consistent attention to detail, safe working practices, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in CNC waterjet machining, including machine setup, operation, and routine maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical specifications with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in measuring and inspection techniques, using tools such as calipers and gauges to verify tolerances.
- Knowledge of cutting parameters for different materials (metals, composites, plastics, glass, stone) and an understanding of production workflows.
- Solid understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems, including documentation, traceability, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Commitment to health and safety best practices in a workshop environment, including safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Effective communication and self-starting skills, with the ability to collaborate with a small team and respond to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering high-quality parts to tight deadlines.
- Prior waterjet precision engineering is highly beneficial.
- Forklift License preferred
