The Role

Working within our Montrose production facility, you will be responsible for the manufacture and processing of steel wire rope assemblies to customer specifications, ensuring all products are produced safely, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

This role is ideal for an experienced wire rope professional who takes pride in producing quality assemblies and has a strong understanding of wire rope processing techniques and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wire Rope Processing & Manufacture

    • Manufacture steel wire rope assemblies in accordance with customer requirements and works orders.
    • Produce Turnback Eye wire rope terminations to the required specifications.
    • Manufacture Flemish Eye wire rope assemblies accurately and efficiently.
    • Carry out Resin Socket terminations in line with company procedures and quality standards.
    • Measure, cut and prepare steel wire rope for customer orders and production requirements.
    • Inspect completed wire rope assemblies to ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
    • Maintain accurate production records and complete all relevant documentation.
  • Workshop Operations

    • Operate wire rope processing equipment and workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
    • Assist with the movement, handling and storage of materials.
    • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
    • Adhere to all health, safety and quality procedures.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience as a Wire Rope Processor or in a similar wire rope manufacturing environment.
  • Experience manufacturing and processing steel wire rope assemblies.
  • Competence in:
    • Turnback Eye terminations
    • Flemish Eye terminations
    • Resin Socketing
  • Experience measuring, cutting and preparing steel wire rope.
  • Ability to work accurately from works orders and customer specifications.
  • Strong understanding of quality requirements and safe working practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Self-motivated, reliable and capable of working as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Forklift Licence (B1/B2).
  • Experience of lifting equipment inspection or related industry certifications.
