Asycd Research Lab — Cohort 02
Teaching machines to navigate the internet as a living thematic landscape — not a pile of links.
Asycd’s Research Lab is a rebellious, exploratory space where early-career AI enthusiasts collaborate on experimental projects in generative AI, prompt engineering, and agentic systems. We run in 3-month sprint cycles, selecting a small cohort of researchers to push boundaries, test ideas, and refine their own reasoning in real time.
This is not a job. It’s a structured, educational research experience designed to empower curious minds and creative technologists.
What you’ll explore (General)
- AI Agents: Long-term memory, self-evaluating reasoning, personalized cognitive profiles, and autonomous discovery engines.
- Software Engineering for AI: Multimodal conversational systems, closed-loop software evolution, and advanced vector/cloud infrastructure for scalable agents.
- Applications of AI: Transforming industries such as finance, healthcare, content, and operations while exploring emerging domains where AI can spark entirely new breakthroughs.
This cycle, TEV-adjacent topics include:
- Thematic data metaverses — mapping the web into overlapping conceptual landscapes rather than isolated URLs and queries
- Serverless research agents that gauge human perspectives to power creative tools
- Subtext and unstructured sentiment — mood, metaphor, and tone over plain keywords
- Live cultural signal pipelines for systems like TEV2 and the path toward TEV3
- Classification and retrieval across five orthogonal vocabularies (Emotion, Genre, Scale, Energy, Meaning)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Self-taught or formally trained — all backgrounds welcome
- Comfortable with ambiguity, iteration, and experimental failure
- Interested in blending technical systems with poetic provocation
- Looking to contribute to a non-commercial, exploratory research sprint
The application process
- Initial application
- Submit an updated CV. A cover letter is optional but welcome if it helps you express your interests or creative perspective.
- Research proposal + interview
- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to develop a one-page research proposal based on one of our suggested themes — or a topic of your own that aligns with the Lab’s ethos.
- For Cohort 02, please read the TEV white paper first; proposals should connect to TEV even if they live in agents, infrastructure, or applications. You’ll then discuss your proposal with our team in a conversational interview focused on curiosity, clarity, and creative reasoning.
- Final decision
- After the interview, we’ll review your proposal, your approach to exploration, and your fit for the cohort. All applicants will receive a decision and brief feedback.
