Building the 21st century's most important hardware

Our team of mechanical, electronic, firmware, and software engineers invents, designs, and builds new hardware. We work with world leading startups, universities, corporates, and funders to solve the world's most pressing technical challenges.

Key Projects

  • Hardware to verify powerful AI systems
  • Scaling new materials 1000x
  • Hardware to direct evolution

Our Belief

Human progress depends upon material advancement – the development of new technologies, the discovery of new science, and the design of new products that expand human capability. Material advancement is not an end in itself: it matters because it lifts living standards, broadens experiences, and gives people the agency to build a better future.

At the same time, we believe that the order of technology development is critical to human flourishing. Differential technology development, the process of deliberately accelerating the creation of safety-enhancing technologies, is how we choose to balance techno-optimism with our concern for humanity's future.

We choose engineering as our tool for material advancement and differential technology development.

Our Focus

Differential technology development drives how we choose projects. We're building a 21st-century research lab focused on 21st-century problems. Not every technology is inevitable – rather, the market fails to incentivize domains that are key to human flourishing. We work in these areas.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
