BCG's Healthcare x Safety, Risk & Regulatory team partners with leading pharmaceutical and medtech companies to address their most critical regulatory, quality, safety, risk, and compliance challenges. Combining deep industry expertise with BCG's strategic consulting capabilities, we help clients strengthen operating models (with a focus on AI-enabled transformation), transform capabilities, manage enterprise risk, and accelerate innovation while maintaining the highest standards of regulatory, quality and patient safety.
As part of an established and growing global practice, you'll work alongside experienced experts, former regulators, consultants, and BCG Vantage colleagues to deliver meaningful client impact. Beyond client engagements, you'll contribute to thought leadership, benchmarking, executive roundtables, and the continued evolution of BCG's Healthcare x Safety, Risk & Regulatory capabilities with a focus on Regulatory and Safety -helping shape the future of the industry.

As an Expert Consultant in our Healthcare x Safety, Risk & Regulatory team, you will combine deep industry expertise with strategic problem solving to help leading pharmaceutical and medtech companies navigate complex regulatory, safety, risk, and compliance challenges. Working alongside BCG consulting teams and fellow experts, you will shape strategic decisions, design transformational solutions, and deliver lasting impact across highly regulated environments.
You will join an established and growing practice with a strong project pipeline and continued investment. Collaborating with experienced experts, consultants, and BCG Vantage colleagues, you will contribute not only to client engagements but also to the continued growth of the practice through thought leadership, benchmarking, publications, capability building, and executive forums that shape the future of Healthcare x Safety, Risk & Regulatory.
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to strategic client engagements across healthcare regulatory, risk, compliance, and safety strategy and transformation projects.
- Help pharmaceutical and medtech clients navigate evolving regulatory requirements while improving organizational effectiveness, resilience, and business performance.
- Partner with consulting teams and subject matter experts to develop high-quality analyses, recommendations, and transformation roadmaps.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and provide expert guidance throughout the engagement lifecycle.
- Contribute to BCG's intellectual capital through thought leadership, benchmarking, publications, and executive roundtables focused on Regulatory and Safety.
- Support the continued growth of the Healthcare x Safety, Risk & Regulatory practice by developing capabilities, sharing knowledge, and contributing to business development initiatives focusing on Regulatory and Safety.
- Collaborate with a global network of Expert Consulting and BCG Vantage professionals to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions for clients.
What you'll bring
- 5 -10 years of outstanding professional experience in management consulting, the pharmaceutical or medtech industry, a healthcare organization, or a regulatory authority, with healthcare expertise in regulatory and safety
- Outstanding academic achievement, demonstrated through a consistently strong academic record from a leading university. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree (such as PharmD, MD, PhD, or MBA) is preferred.
- Deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: GxP, Quality, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Quality, Risk Management. If you have broader Compliance experience and are interested in expanding in other areas, you should also apply.
- Demonstrated success leading or advising on complex regulatory, quality, safety, or risk initiatives, delivering measurable impact for clients or organizations.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory and business challenges into practical, actionable recommendations.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage technical specialists, senior client stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in contributing to thought leadership, publications, benchmarking, capability building, and the continued growth of BCG's Healthcare x Safety, Risk & Regulatory
