Harrison Associates is a specialist provider of Case Management and Expert Witness services for Claimants who have suffered complex and catastrophic injuries. We work closely with solicitors, insurers, clients, and rehabilitation providers to deliver clear, responsive services grounded in professional integrity.

Our expert witness service offers balanced, evidence-based opinion that is clear and defensible in legal proceedings. The panel includes experienced health professionals such as occupational therapists, nurses, physiotherapists, and speech and language therapists, all supported by strong clinical governance, quality assurance, and training.

This role is part-time and remote. It involves completing expert assessments of individuals with complex and catastrophic injuries, reviewing clinical records and other documentation, and formulating clear, independent, defensible, evidence-based opinions on functional ability, rehabilitation needs, and long-term support such as care, aids and adaptations.

You will also be required to:

  • Complete amendments to reports
  • Liaise with instructing parties
  • Attend virtual case conferences
  • Give expert testimony in Court

The role also involves maintaining accurate records, adhering to Harrison Associates’ clinical governance and quality assurance processes, and engaging with professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience in a relevant specialty.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Occupational Therapy, including assessment, intervention planning, and functional evaluation for people with complex and catastrophic injuries.
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear report writing, presentation of clinical opinion, and professional interaction with legal professionals.
  • Current professional registration (e.g., HCPC or equivalent) and appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
  • Prior experience as an expert witness or willingness to develop expertise in medico-legal work, including familiarity with legal procedures and standards of expert evidence.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to produce balanced, defensible opinions that withstand scrutiny.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time caseloads, and meet deadlines reliably.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, ethical practice, and adherence to clinical governance and quality assurance frameworks.
