Overview
This freelance role is offered by a partner company on behalf of their client, based in the United Kingdom. It offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact on payment performance across a portfolio of international SaaS products.
Responsibilities
- Audit existing Adyen integrations, configurations, and payment flows across multiple SaaS products.
- Identify improvement opportunities and implement best practices for recurring payments, 3DS2, SCA, webhooks, and related payment processes.
- Analyze authorization and renewal performance and implement measures to improve payment success rates.
- Support risk, fraud prevention, chargeback, and dispute-management initiatives.
- Assess payment flows and configurations across different products, adapting recommendations to each product's specific context and priorities.
- Document findings, recommendations, and implemented solutions clearly for internal teams.
- Transfer knowledge and best practices to payment, technology, and product stakeholders to strengthen internal capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in payment-related roles, with confirmed to senior-level expertise.
- Strong hands-on experience integrating and optimizing Adyen in production environments, specifically for recurring or subscription-based payments.
- Advanced knowledge of Adyen APIs, Customer Area, and risk-management tools.
- Strong understanding of 3DS2/SCA, authorization-rate optimization, payment retries, account updater processes, and chargeback management.
- Experience with a billing orchestrator is highly valued, while knowledge of other payment service providers is a plus.
- Previous experience working with Adyen directly, as a solution or implementation engineer, or within a B2C SaaS subscription or marketplace environment is advantageous.
- Strong autonomy and ownership, with the ability to audit, prioritize, and deliver independently without extensive supervision.
- Excellent communication and teaching skills, with the ability to make complex payment topics accessible to product and technology teams.
- Strong analytical rigor and a results-oriented mindset focused on measurable business outcomes.
- Fluent French, as it is the primary working language.
- Professional fluency in English, which is the secondary working language and will be assessed during the recruitment process.
