Export Control and Regulatory Coordinator

Location: Swinton, Manchester Department: Quality & Compliance Salary: £32,000 – £40,000 per annum

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our Quality and Compliance team. You will be key in maintaining Trade and Chemical Compliance activities across the company, adhering to global chemical regulations such as UK-REACH, EU-REACH, and TSCA schemes, along with import/export regulations. As part of this role, you will demonstrate strong teamwork to provide compliance support and guidance to all business functions. Your responsibilities include compiling relevant data, developing, implementing, and maintaining processes and documentation to ensure compliance with all importation and manufacturing transactions. Additionally, you will perform internal audits to verify compliance.

This role represents an excellent opportunity to grow within a fast-paced and dynamic environment while gaining experience in cross-functional projects involving internal and external stakeholders. Occasional international travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring alignment with all company HSE requirements and regulations
  • Creating and maintaining trade compliance documentation, including due diligence reports, SOPs, work instructions, and forms
  • Contributing to the Quality Assurance and Compliance Scorecard to meet departmental KPIs
  • Developing and improving internal processes to support Luxfer’s Global Trade Compliance Program
  • Determining Global Tariff Schedules and Export Control Classification Numbers/codes for products being imported or exported
  • Conducting robust due diligence on export classifications and other regulatory requirements
  • Implementing and interpreting Country of Origin (COO) and FTA (Free Trade Agreement) rules to support import operations
  • Monitoring developments in and assessing compliance with company, state, federal, and international laws and guidelines
  • Preparing and delivering internal training and updates to enhance business awareness of compliance aspects

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • 3 A-Levels in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field such as Environmental Science or Toxicology, with grades BBB (or equivalent to 120 UCAS points).

Experience:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a regulatory role
  • Preferred candidates will have specific experience in the following:
    • EU REACH registrations
    • Import/export formalities
    • Trade compliance

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI for data analysis
  • Excellent ** organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities**
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to approach work professionally, flexibly, and collaboratively
