Duties
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Export Trade Coordinator, based in either Cadishead or Widnes. Please note this is a hybrid role with an expectation of at least 3 days being worked in one of our offices.
Reporting to the International Trade Services Manager, the Export Trade Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and executing global export shipments of chemical products in full compliance with customs, trade, and dangerous goods regulations. Working within an AEO-regulated environment, the role ensures that all exports are processed accurately, safely, and in accordance with international transport and customs requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks
- Coordinate end-to-end export shipments of chemical products to international destinations and liaise with customers and internal stakeholders
- Prepare and manage all export documentation
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant shipment execution
- Work with customers to coordinate the completion of customs declarations for the relevant country of export, ensuring accuracy
- Ensure compliance with national and international customs regulations
- Support audits and controls within an AEO-certified framework
- Maintain accurate records in line with customs and AEO requirements
- Where required, ensure shipments comply Dangerous Goods requirements (ADR/IMDG/IATA/RID)
- Work closely with EHS teams to ensure correct chemical classification and transport requirements
- Work closely with Account Management and Sales teams to support customer requirements whilst ensuring regulatory compliance
- Maintain a close working relationship with the on-site Production team responsible for filling and loading export containers
- Procure ocean freight and air freight rates from designated carrier partners
- Coordinate shipment readiness with Warehouse and Transport teams, including external partners
- Process and Continuous Improvement:
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within export and customs processes
- Identify operational or compliance risks and escalate where required
- Contribute to process standardisation and best practice implementation

We Are Looking For
- Languages: English is required. Other languages will be beneficial due to the global nature of this role
- Experience working in an international trade department or freight forwarding background
- Degree or vocational qualification in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or International Trade - desirable
- Dangerous Goods training (ADR, IMDG, IATA) – desirable
- Customs or trade qualification – desirable
- Able to work effectively with Sales, Account Management, Production and Operations teams
- Confident in managing differing views and priorities across departments
- Clear and professional communicator
- Structured, methodical, and dependable
- Agile mindset and proactive problem-solver with strong ownership mentality.
