Overview

As an Export Customer Service Representative, you'll be the primary point of contact for customers requiring international shipments and export services.

Working closely with customers, sales teams, logistics providers, warehouses, and regulatory stakeholders, you will play a critical role in ensuring orders are processed accurately and delivered efficiently across international markets.

As part of our Customer Service team, you are the face of our business and essential in building loyalty, trust, and long-term customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

  • Working closely with Account Managers and Sales teams to support and develop relationships with export customers across multiple international markets
  • Providing first-class customer service by understanding customer requirements and ensuring export orders are managed efficiently from order placement through to delivery
  • Managing customer communications through various channels, including phone, email, and CRM systems
  • Processing export orders and coordinating shipments in compliance with international trade regulations, customer requirements, and company procedures
  • Preparing, reviewing, and coordinating export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, dangerous goods documentation, and customs paperwork as required
  • Liaising with freight forwarders, carriers, warehouses, and internal supply chain teams to ensure timely and compliant shipment execution
  • Monitoring order progress, proactively communicating shipment updates, and resolving delivery or customs-related issues
  • Understanding, prioritising, and escalating customer concerns while ensuring timely resolution and maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Supporting compliance with export controls, trade regulations, and country-specific documentation requirements
  • Identifying opportunities to improve customer experience, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiency
  • Acting as the first point of contact for export customers, ensuring issues are managed professionally and resolved quickly and effectively

What We Are Looking For

  • Comfortable using a PC, Microsoft Office applications, and Customer Relationship Management software, ideally SAP
  • Experience in export operations, international logistics, customs documentation, or global supply chain processes would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and enjoy coordinating multiple activities to ensure successful outcomes
  • Skilled at investigating customer issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions
  • Customer-focused, organised, resilient, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced international environment
  • Knowledge of export documentation, Incoterms, customs procedures, dangerous goods regulations, or international transportation processes would be beneficial
