Job Description
What you can expect
We are recruiting for an Export Solutions Operator to ensure the effective planning, coordination, and administration of export and transport operations during the night shift. The Road Export Operator is responsible for managing export trailer departures, customs compliance, trunking operations, import releases, inventory discrepancies, and maintaining the integrity of operational systems to support service excellence and regulatory compliance.

For this role we are looking at night shift coverage between the hours of 18:00 – 02:00am

Main Duties:
- Coordinate and manage nightly transport, export, and import operations to ensure shipments depart and arrive on schedule.
- Plan and optimise trailer loads, working closely with warehouse teams to maximise capacity and service levels.
- Prepare, validate, and process transport documentation, manifests, load lists, and EDI transmissions.
- Investigate and report shipment discrepancies, damages, and customs issues, taking corrective action where required.
- Communicating effectively with Network and Partners.
- UK customs formalities – Prepare, verify, and process export documentation (CMR, invoices, packing lists, GMRs, ENS, ELOs and PBN’s, etc.)
- Support import processing, trailer releases, and customs clearance activities during out of hours.
- Produce operational reports and provide effective communication and handovers.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, transport procedures, and company operational standards.
- Maintain accurate shipment, planning, and operational data within company TMS.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by maintaining data accuracy and supporting efficient freight operations.
- Participate in training sessions to remain updated on compliance protocols and procedures.
- Any other additional tasks in line with the evolving needs of the business

What you bring
- Existing experience in export road freight essential.
- Strong organisational skills and administrative skills required as responsible for departments housekeeping.
- Experience using transport management and operational systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- ETSF/customs warehousing knowledge desirable.
- Working knowledge of customs procedures and international freight movements.
- ASM Sequoia system knowledge advantageous.
- Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Math
- Other languages could be beneficial
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Word / Excel / Teams / Outlook)
