Purpose Of the Role
To support the efficient and cost-effective operation of European export activities by responding to customer requirements and meeting network standards. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, reliable service while maximising profitability through effective solutions to groupage and export logistics needs.
Responsibilities
- Collating and processing delivery notes.
- Processing collection orders, including both part and full loads.
- Managing EDI takeover activities.
- Preparing and dispatching trunk vehicles and one-way export trailers.
- Routing consignments to maximise trailer utilisation.
- Processing customs envelopes.
- Conducting dangerous goods compatibility checks.
- Planning and processing customer EDI data, including advice notes, collections, forwarding orders, and hazardous or customs-related requirements.
- Monitoring customer compliance with export documentation to ensure accurate and efficient customs processing.
- Providing guidance on Dachser customs documentation requirements and assisting in resolving customs issues to support timely export dispatch.
- Completing Brexit-related administrative tasks, including entering data into the Government Gateway and adding customs information to processed jobs.
- Maintaining effective communication with internal departments in Dartford - such as export customer service, warehouse, transport, customs, and sales - as well as with other UK and European branches.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A minimum of two years’ experience in European road freight operations
- Strong knowledge of European geography
- Solid commercial awareness
- Proficiency in standard computer applications
- The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, pressurised environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing operational demands
- Customs knowledge (desirable)
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills
