Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
About The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Export Freight Forwarder to join a busy and growing logistics team based in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for a freight professional who can confidently manage export shipments from start to finish and has experience across multimodal transport.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling export operations across air, sea, and road freight, ensuring shipments are processed efficiently and delivered to the highest standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing export shipments via air, sea, and road freight
- Preparing and processing customs clearance documentation
- Producing and issuing client quotations
- Raising transport documentation including Air Waybills (AWBs), Bills of Lading, and associated shipping paperwork
- Liaising with customers, carriers, hauliers, and overseas agents
- Monitoring shipments and providing regular customer updates
- Managing files from initial quotation through to final delivery
- Ensuring all documentation and compliance requirements are completed accurately

Requirements
- Previous experience within export freight forwarding
- Knowledge of air, sea, and road export operations
- Customs clearance experience and training
- Ability to create and manage customer quotations
- Experience preparing AWBs, Bills of Lading, and export documentation
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Capable of handling export files independently from start to finish
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
