Export Management Specialist

Location: Hatfield ideally but open to other UK offices but must be willing to travel
Contract type: Permanent

Life on the team

We’re looking for an Export Specialist to join our Export Management Team, to support us in ensuring a smooth and compliant international trade across five countries.

Based in our Hatfield office (ideally), you’ll work as part of our export and import team, ensuring operational efficiency and legal compliance across all international trading. You’ll have the opportunity to continuously improve processes, enhance reporting, and directly contribute to high impact business outcomes.

You’ll be working closely with key stakeholders across our business from sales leaders to our trade compliance officers and the opportunity to represent our Group Export Manager when required. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is looking for a long-term career with endless opportunities to take ownership and develop new ways of working to aid efficiency and compliance within a global environment.

You’ll also be:

  • Conducting analysis of Bills of Materials for large scale AI deployments to determine compliance requirements for exports, including
    • Export Licences
    • Re-export Licence Exceptions for US origin products
  • Communicating daily and leading meetings with key stakeholders at all levels
  • Managing queries relating to exports, imports and trade compliance
  • Responsible for creation and analysis of regular and ad-hoc reporting
  • Identifying potential opportunities for process improvement and reducing any potential compliance risks
  • Management of system ownership for our export tool
  • Reviewing and implementing new compliance requirements enforced by trade compliance and customs officers
  • Working closely with our Group Export Manager and covering key tasks where appropriate
  • Producing workflows and documentation for new process improvements.

What you’ll need

  • 3-5 Years Experience working in an Export and Compliance Department ideally with a degree in Logistics and dealing with Export Compliance Topics
  • Expert knowledge of UK, EU and US regulations related to:
    • Product Classification – Commodity Codes
    • Export Control Numbers for UK, EU and US
  • You’ll need to have a strong interest in global trade, compliance and IT logistics
  • You’ll need to be a driven and self-motivated individual with excellent attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • You’ll need to enjoy working as part of a team and be able to build strong professional relationships at all levels.
  • You’ll need to have great attention for detail, strong analytical skills and an interest in global trade and business compliance
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn
