Export Official Veterinarian - Peterborough

Location: Peterborough
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Competitive (with car allowance)
Eligibility: Must have the right to work in the UK

The Opportunity

HallMark Veterinary and Compliance Services is recruiting for an experienced and motivated Export Official Veterinarian to join our Export Certification team on a full-time, permanent basis in Peterborough.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Export Official Veterinarian who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment and is looking to play a key role in supporting our export operation.

As a key member of the Export Certification team, you will support export operations through the delivery of export certification activities across different locations, ensuring that the required standards and regulatory requirements are consistently maintained.

This is a challenging and varied role, suited to an experienced Official Veterinarian with extensive technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing a demanding workload. The role involves a significant amount of travel, including travelling to different locations to provide export cover.

About the Role

As an Export Official Veterinarian, you will play a key role in supporting the efficient movement of export products by delivering export certification activities and ensuring compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements.

Working as part of the wider Export Certification team, you will maintain the highest standards of accuracy, professionalism, and regulatory compliance while working closely with operational teams and customers.

The successful candidate will be confident working independently within a busy operational environment and able to manage a varied workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

The role will require flexibility and a willingness to travel between different export locations as required, providing export cover and supporting the wider team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support export operations through the delivery of export certification activities across different locations.
  • Ensure that all relevant regulatory requirements and standards are maintained throughout the export certification process.
  • Complete export certification accurately and professionally, ensuring all required information and documentation is correct.
  • Apply extensive technical knowledge to support compliant and effective export certification activities.
  • Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with operational teams to support the efficient movement of export products.
  • Provide a high-quality service to customers and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and operational teams.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail when reviewing and completing certification documentation.
  • Work independently and manage a varied workload within a demanding operational environment.
  • Provide export cover across different locations as required.
  • Travel regularly between export locations to support operational requirements.
  • Maintain a flexible approach to changing priorities and operational demands.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

  • Experience in export certification of Products of Animal Origin.
  • Strong knowledge of fresh meat exports to the EU and other international markets.
  • Experience with retail exports.
  • Knowledge of groupage consignments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Excellent technical knowledge relevant to export certification.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.
  • Flexible approach to travelling between different export locations.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
