Our Client

Our client is a leading company in the construction products sector. With a highly successful specification-led sales model in the UK, they are now focused on significant international expansion and strengthening their global presence.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Global Export Sales Director to lead this export expansion. You will be responsible for managing and growing their network of international distributors across multiple territories and delivering substantial sales growth through a proven specification sales strategy.

As the Global Export Sales Director, you will have full responsibility for the international P&L. You will drive export sales growth, lead a multi-territory sales team, and roll out the company's specification-led global strategy across new and existing markets. A background in specification sales to the Construction market in a highly regulated industry is needed, industries such as HVAC, Fire Protection, Ceiling and suspended ceilings, Flooring, lift and mechanical products are an advantage.

Your focus will be on recruiting and developing high-performing export sales managers, appointing and managing high-calibre distributors, and improving service levels and forecasting accuracy. A key part of your role will be to strengthen the collaboration between the international sales, manufacturing, and engineering functions to support this global growth.

About You

  • Significant sales experience in passive fire protection or the wider construction products industry.
  • Proven success managing international distributor networks across multiple territories.
  • A strong understanding of specification-led selling to architects, consultants, and major projects.
  • Experience leading and developing multi-territory export or international sales teams.
  • Commercially astute with strong business acumen and financial discipline.
  • A process-oriented approach to forecasting, reporting, and operational management.
  • Comfortable working closely with manufacturing and engineering functions.
  • A track record of delivering sales growth and improving distributor performance.
  • A collaborative leadership style with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Energetic, motivated by growth challenges, and prepared to challenge constructively to drive accountability.
