I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Ideally, you’ll have experience within medical devices, medical equipment, capital equipment or another technical B2B product environment. However, medical experience isn’t essential. We’re particularly interested in strong export sales professionals who have successfully built distributor networks and developed international territories, as product knowledge can be taught.
French language skills would be advantageous for communication with colleagues at headquarters, but are not essential.
The Company
We are an established international medical equipment manufacturer with approximately 150 employees, manufacturing and supplying products to global healthcare settings. Established in France in 1990, the business has developed an increasingly international footprint, with established operations and local teams across markets including the UK, Belgium, and Germany. The export division has expanded considerably during the last decade and this appointment will play an important role in the company’s continued growth.
