Externally, the role includes overseeing and supporting all Regulatory return work, ensuring accuracy and operational efficiency.
The role will also participate in the wider functions of the Exposure Management Team as well as the overall Risk Function.

- Provide portfolio and financial modelling insight as part of model and system reviews.
- Oversee the portfolio post-cat event response and ensure coordination with the Portfolio Manager and Senior Analysts for their respective classes.
- Support the catastrophe research team in View of Risk validation projects, largely from a cat analytics view, providing a holistic viewpoint that ensures underwriting and actuarial are considered, as well as catalogues.
- Look to improve processes to enhance the overall operational efficiency of the team.

- Management of the Analytics and Regulatory sub-team.
- Ensure that the team is suitably resourced, experienced, and developing, so that all tasks are completed and the expertise of the team is increasing.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
