Salary: £31,375 to £34,288 Competitive Salary

Construction Tutor (Joinery, Brickwork & Multi-Skills)

Casual Contract | Approximately 0.6 FTE

EPNE Training is seeking expressions of interest from skilled and motivated construction professionals to support the delivery of our Community and Pre-Employment Adult Learning Programmes, helping learners develop practical construction skills, increase their confidence, and progress towards employment and further training.

We are looking for individuals with substantial industry experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Joinery
  • Brickwork
  • Multi-Skills Construction
  • General Construction and Maintenance

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team dedicated to supporting adults and local communities through high-quality skills development and employability programmes.

About The Role

The successful candidate will deliver practical and engaging construction training to adult learners participating in community and pre-employment programmes. You will inspire learners, build confidence, and help individuals develop the knowledge and skills needed to take their next steps into employment, further learning, or apprenticeships.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Delivering practical and classroom-based construction training.
  • Supporting learners to develop industry-relevant skills and behaviours.
  • Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encouraging learner progression and achievement.
  • Maintaining workshop resources and ensuring high standards of health and safety.
  • Contributing to the success of EPNE Training's adult learning and employability provision.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven occupational experience in joinery, brickwork, multi-skills, or a related construction trade.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for sharing knowledge and supporting learner development.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching, training, coaching, mentoring, or assessing learners.
  • Knowledge of adult learning or employability programmes.
  • Relevant teaching or assessor qualifications.

Teaching Qualifications

A teaching qualification is not essential for this role. Support to achieve an appropriate teaching qualification may be available for the right candidate who demonstrates the skills, experience, and commitment to succeed in a training environment.
