Our Advisory & Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers project, programme & commercial management (PPCM) services, providing bespoke solutions across sectors such as:

Key focus area: Nuclear decommissioning—ensuring safe, compliant, and value-driven closure of nuclear facilities while advancing the low-carbon transition.
Role Overview
Owing to our growing energy portfolio, especially nuclear decommissioning, we are hiring a Quantity Surveyor in Whitehaven and Warrington.
This is a challenging and rewarding role, allowing you to contribute to highly regulated, technically complex, and financially significant projects. You will:
✅ Manage NEC4 contracts in nuclear decommissioning programmes ✅ Ensure cost control, commercial efficiency, and risk mitigation ✅ Work with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams ✅ Deliver value, enhance collaboration, and champion best practice

Candidate Specification
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and administer NEC4 contracts, including compliance with project and governance requirements
- Handle contract variations efficiently to ensure timely agreements
- Oversee cost control, forecasting, and budget monitoring across high-complexity programmes
- Improve quality of cost forecasts and budget reliability
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project targets
- Ensure compliance with nuclear regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols
Requirements for the Role
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience)
- NEC ECC Accreditation & practical experience administering NEC4 contracts
- Membership or qualification pathway with a recognised professional body (e.g., MRICS)
- Previous work on technically complex infrastructure projects (preferably in nuclear, energy, utilities)
- Experience managing contract cash flow, governance, and change control
- Proficient in contract administration using CEMAR
- Strong background in cost control, estimating, and commercial reviews
- Competence in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Access, PowerPoint)
- Practical hands-on experience administering NEC4 contracts (ECC/PSC)
Desirable Skills
✔ Experience with Thinkproject Contracts ✔ NEC4 Project Manager Accreditation ✔ Familiarity with nuclear decommissioning, waste management, or remediation
