LHH External Communications Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and strategic External Communications Specialist with a strong focus on public relations and content development. This role is ideal for someone who can craft compelling narratives that strengthen our brand reputation, engage stakeholders, and support our organizational objectives through high-quality written and multimedia content. Understanding of public relations strategy, media relationships, agency coordination, and earned press visibility are all critical skills for this role.

In this role you can expect to

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, write, and edit a variety of external communications materials, including press releases, media pitches, media advisories, talking points, speeches, and speaking opportunities for executives at LHH.
  • Lead and execute a dedicated executive LinkedIn program, crafting posts in authentic executive voice and leveraging platform best practices to strengthen thought leadership, engagement, and brand visibility.
  • Support media relations efforts by drafting pitches, press kits, and backgrounders that effectively communicate organizational priorities.
  • Monitor media coverage, track industry trends, and produce content that enhances public perception and thought leadership.
  • Assist in the creation of executive communications, including speeches, presentations, and messaging frameworks.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information, stories, and updates for timely and accurate dissemination.
  • Apply understanding of distribution channel requirements to content needs such as SEO, LLM, GEO, and AP.
  • Support crisis communications as needed, helping to craft clear and consistent messaging.
  • Integrate cross-functionally with other practice areas such as Marketing, Sales, and Product to ensure key messages and brand are cohesive across.

All About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or journalism.
  • Demonstrated experience writing for LinkedIn and other social platforms, with a strong understanding of executive voice development, audience engagement strategies, and social analytics.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with media relations, press outreach, and PR best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in digital communications tools, content management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working in a corporate or agency environment is a plus.
  • Experience with AI, Generative Agentic, LLMs.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to align communications with organizational goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
