External Member, Innovation & Enterprise Board

About Us

The University of Bath is committed to delivering meaningful impact through education, research, partnership and enterprise. We believe innovation is how ideas, talent, expertise and partnerships come together to create value for society, the economy and the environment. By working with businesses, public services, investors, policymakers and communities, we help translate knowledge into solutions that address real-world challenges and opportunities.

The new Innovation & Enterprise Board (IEB) will play a central role in supporting this ambition. IEB will provide strategic oversight, challenge and assurance across the University's innovation and enterprise activities, ensuring they are aligned to institutional priorities and deliver lasting impact.

About The Role

We are seeking to appoint three new External Members to the new Innovation & Enterprise Board.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to contribute their expertise and independent perspective to the governance and strategic development of the University's innovation and enterprise portfolio.

Responsibilities Include

  • Contributing to the development and oversight of innovation and enterprise strategic priorities.
  • Monitoring the performance and impact of innovation, enterprise and commercialisation activities.
  • Overseeing the development and management of strategic external partnerships.
  • Supporting decision-making relating to intellectual property, commercialisation activity and investment opportunities.
  • Reviewing innovation and enterprise risks and the effectiveness of mitigation actions.
  • Providing independent challenge, advice and assurance on matters within the Board's remit.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
