The Role
We are seeking a results-driven External Sales Manager to spearhead new business growth for TechPoint Golledge. This is a hunter role, focused on winning new design-in opportunities for our precision components (crystal oscillators, frequency control products, and related devices) across key markets including aerospace, defense, industrial, automotive and medical.
You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and influencing Electronics Design Engineers, hardware architects, and project managers to embed our components at the design stage. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical understanding of electronic components with proven new business sales experience in the electronics industry.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone ambitious, technically credible, and highly motivated to drive market penetration and revenue growth in a high-value, specialist niche.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and target new design-in opportunities with OEMs, design houses, and engineering teams.
- Build strong relationships with Electronics Design Engineers and technical decision makers to position TechPoint Golledge components as the preferred solution at the earliest design stage.
- Develop and execute a clear territory and account plan to achieve aggressive growth targets.
- Generate leads, qualify opportunities, and manage the sales pipeline to secure long-term design wins.
- Collaborate with engineering and applications support teams to deliver technical presentations, demos, and design support for customers.
- Negotiate commercial terms and close business, working with internal stakeholders on pricing, lead-times, and contract agreements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the electronic components industry, including competitors, technologies, and emerging applications.
- Represent TechPoint at key industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings.
- Provide market feedback to internal product and engineering teams to guide product development.
- Ensure all activities are captured and tracked using the CRM system.

About You
Experience & Skills
- Proven track record in new business / design-in sales within the electronic components industry (oscillators, crystals, semiconductors, passives, or related).
- Strong network of contacts among OEMs, design consultancies, or engineering teams.
- Technical background (degree/HND in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline) or equivalent experience.
- Ability to understand and discuss detailed technical requirements with design engineers and translate these into winning proposals.
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Skilled negotiator with excellent presentation and communication abilities.
- Self-starter with strong drive, resilience, and the ability to work independently.
- Comfortable travelling extensively across the UK (and occasionally internationally).
- Experience with CRM systems and structured pipeline management.
- UK driving licence and ability to meet criteria for security clearance.

Desirable
- Direct experience selling frequency control products, timing devices, or related RF/electronic components.
- Previous experience in a design engineering role before moving into technical sales.
- Familiarity with key customer applications in aerospace, defense, automotive, medical, and industrial electronics.
