Role Description

The External Sales Representative is a full-time, on-site role based in Bradford. This role focuses on visiting existing and potential customers, promoting products and services, and identifying opportunities for new business within the local construction and trade market. The role also involves:

  • Building long-term relationships
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Meeting agreed sales targets

The External Sales Representative is expected to:

  • Maintain accurate records of customer visits
  • Prepare regular sales reports
  • Represent Joseph Parr Bradford professionally in the field

Qualifications

  • Strong sales skills, including Sales Presentations and New Business Development.
  • Proven ability in Relationship Building and Customer Service.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Experience in external or field sales, ideally within builders merchants or the construction materials industry.
  • Ability to plan and manage a sales territory, including travel around Bradford and surrounding areas.
  • Comfortable working towards sales targets and KPIs, with good negotiation and closing skills.
  • Valid driving license suitable for regular customer visits.
  • Basic IT skills for using CRM systems, email, and standard office applications.
  • Knowledge of building materials or willingness to learn product ranges quickly.
