3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Job Purpose
To deliver a high-quality, responsive housing management and tenancy support service for residents within an Extra Care Housing Scheme, ensuring they live in a safe, secure, and well-managed environment. The role supports tenants to sustain their tenancies, maximise independence, and exercise choice while ensuring the Council's landlord responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with Somerset Council policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day housing administration and tenancy management for residents within an Extra Care Housing Scheme.
- Ensure Somerset Council's landlord responsibilities are delivered in line with relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
- Provide effective tenancy management support, including managing introductory and secure tenancies.
- Promote and support tenants' independence, wellbeing, and ability to maintain their tenancy.
- Respond to tenant enquiries and resolve housing management issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor tenancy compliance and take appropriate action where required.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, care providers, and external partners to deliver coordinated support for residents.
- Maintain accurate housing management records and ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with organisational requirements.
- Contribute to maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming living environment for all residents.

Requirements
Essential
- At least two years' experience in housing management, supporting and managing tenants within a local authority or similar housing environment.
- Knowledge of introductory and secure tenancies and the effective management of these tenancy types.
- Understanding of housing management principles, tenancy sustainment, and landlord responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with tenants and stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.

Additional Information
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Location: Station Approach, Taunton, Somerset, TA2 7QL
- Working Pattern: Hybrid – 4 days on site, 1 day remote
- Pay: Bi-weekly payments
