About the Role

As an Extrusion Operator, you will support the manufacturing of high-quality blown extrusion film, ensuring it meets customer standards while maintaining a safe working environment. During the training period (normally 2-3 weeks), you will work Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, before moving on to shift and reporting into the Shift Manager. Shift pattern is 4 on 4 off, 2 days/2 nights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working safe in accordance with site procedures and safe systems of work
  • Reporting all hazards and acting on them accordingly
  • Housekeeping on all extrusion lines
  • Monitoring product quality and ensuring all quality checks and testing is carried out in line with specifications
  • Monitoring and managing line output rates, utilization, scrap levels against plan/targets on each line
  • Operating extrusion machinery and monitoring and managing recycling equipment on each unit
  • Ensuring accurate data is recorded and inputted correctly
  • Ensuring a good handover of information to the incoming operator

Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience in the operation of extrusion equipment (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (desirable)
  • Full training will be provided.
  • Good team working and communication
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Be able to work unsupervised and using own initiative
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities to ensure deadlines are met
