ROLE: Extrusion Technician

HOURS:

Continental shifts 4 on, 4 off. 6am - 6pm days or 6pm - 6am nights

SALARY:

up to £17.32 per hour based on experience, plus shift allowance, benefits and £2,500 retention bonus

Site Based, Somercotes, Alfreton

We are currently expanding our Extrusion Technician team based at our Clover Nook and Birchwood sites in Somercotes, Alfreton playing a key role in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting extrusion production lines, ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

We're committed to building a highly skilled Extrusion Technician team and recognising the value experienced technicians bring to our business. To support this, we're offering a £2,500 retention bonus for successful candidates joining this role.

You'll Receive The £2,500 Retention Bonus When You

  • Successfully complete your 3-month probationary period.
  • Complete 6 months of continuous service as an Extrusion Technician.

What Our Extrusion Technicians Do

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot extrusion production lines to meet required specifications and production standards
  • Ensure products are brought into production within agreed timeframes and according to operational requirements
  • Inspect, test, and sign off finished products to ensure all quality standards and customer specifications are achieved
  • Support the control and monitoring of manufacturing processes for finished and semi-finished goods, ensuring consistent quality and compliance
  • Work closely with Production Management to implement and support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence projects
  • Proactively identify potential Health, Safety, and Environmental risks, and support actions to eliminate or reduce hazards within the workplace
  • Maintain a safe, efficient, and organised working environment while adhering to company policies and procedures

What We Need From Our Extrusion Technicians

  • Previous technical experience in extrusion, manufacturing, or a similar production environment, including tooling set-up, troubleshooting, and quality control
  • Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Experience carrying out product inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with required standards
  • Demonstrable practical, on-the-job technical training and experience
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to make logical and informed decisions
  • Ability to think ahead, prioritise tasks, and plan effectively to support production requirements
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to accurately record and interpret production data
  • Understanding of key Health & Safety principles and safe working practices within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working within a factory or production setting and comfortable working long shifts
