Help Give Children the Best Possible Start
The Early Years are where children begin discovering what they're capable of.
They learn how to communicate their ideas, make friends, manage their emotions, solve problems and become increasingly independent.
A welcoming primary school in Greenford is looking for a qualified Level 3 Childcare Practitioner to join its Early Years team on a full-time, long-term basis.
Working through Prebook Recruitment, you'll bring your existing childcare knowledge into a school environment, supporting children at an important stage of their development.

Be Part of Their Early Learning Journey
Your role will be about helping children learn through a combination of play, exploration, conversation and structured activities.
One moment you might be helping a small group practise early sounds and vocabulary. The next, you could be encouraging children to work together during play, supporting someone who needs help managing their emotions or helping a child develop the confidence to try something independently.
You'll work closely with the teacher and other Early Years professionals to make sure children receive the right balance of support, encouragement and challenge.
Your Responsibilities Could Include
- Supporting children during individual and small-group activities.
- Encouraging speech, language and vocabulary development.
- Reinforcing early phonics and literacy skills.
- Supporting early number recognition and mathematical development.
- Creating opportunities for learning through purposeful play.
- Helping children develop confidence and independence.
- Encouraging positive friendships and social interaction.
- Supporting personal, social and emotional development.
- Helping children understand routines and expectations.
- Preparing activities, resources and learning areas.
- Supporting creative, sensory and practical activities.
- Encouraging physical development through indoor and outdoor learning.
- Providing additional support for children with SEND or emerging needs.
- Observing children's development and recognising areas where additional support may be helpful.
- Sharing observations with teachers and other EYFS professionals.
- Helping maintain a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.

Every Child Develops Differently
Early Years development doesn't happen at exactly the same pace for every child.
One child may be confident socially but need additional help developing their language.
Another may have strong communication skills but find routines or transitions difficult.
Some children may require additional support because of SEND, speech and language needs, sensory differences or developmental delays.
You'll help recognise these differences and adapt the support you provide so children can participate and make progress from their own starting points.
Patience and observation will be just as important as your childcare knowledge.
What Experience Will You Need?
You'll need to hold a recognised Level 3 Childcare or Early Years qualification and have practical experience working with young children.

You'll Also Need
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Knowledge of early childhood development.
- Confidence communicating with young children.
- A nurturing and encouraging approach.
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and colleagues.
- Good observation and communication skills.
- An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
- A genuine interest in helping children learn and develop.
