EYFS Teaching Assistant Level 3 (Start date 2nd November 2026)

Fixed Term - Due to pupil numbers but possibility to extend if numbers allow

08:25-15:40 (Mon-Thurs) and 8:25-14:25 (Fri) 30 minutes for lunch

Term time only

£28,598 - £34,434 FTE

King David Primary School are looking to appoint a dedicated and dynamic Early Years Teaching Assistant to provide high quality, supportive and nurturing provision for our EYFS children.

The core purpose of the role will be to support the learning and development of the children within the class. The role will involve working alongside other staff and professionals to help develop the children’s language and independence while supporting them to reach their full potential both academically and socially as well as supporting their day to day personal care needs.

You would be joining an exceptional and supportive team of professionals, who are relentless in our pursuit of excellence and our mission to support all of our KD STARs to SHINE. Each of our individual roles has an impact on the future of our children and so, we put them at the heart of the decisions we make and the services we provide.

King David is a small Primary School situated in Moseley. We are the only Jewish school in the Midlands and welcome children and staff from a very diverse range of backgrounds.

OFSTED, June 2026, described us as ‘A small school but Big family’ and said ‘Children make a positive start in the early years because staff create a welcoming and nurturing environment. Warm relationships help children feel safe and confident to explore.

We are looking for someone who:

Your core duties will be:

  • Working with a team to deliver high quality provision for the EYFS children in our school
  • Prepare the classroom for the next day’s learning
  • Supervise and support a child during lessons and over lunchtime
  • Encouraging the children to positively interact with others and engage in lessons led by the teacher
  • Supporting the children’s academic, physical and emotional well-being
  • Supporting and nurturing the children to become the best versions of themselves and ready for the next stage of their education
  • Being aware of pupil barriers to learning, progress, achievements and able to adapt activities as discussed with the class teacher
  • Supporting the teacher in managing pupil behaviour and supporting the needs of the children
