EYFS Teaching Assistant – Reception – MATERNITY LEAVE POSITION
30 hours per week - Term Time Only (39 weeks)
Temporary Position
Grade 5 Scale Point: 7 – 9 £26,409 - £27,254
(Pro Rata approximately: £21,192 - £21,875)
Required From Mon 2nd Nov 2026
About the role:
Our Governing Body is wishing to employ an EYFS Teaching Assistant in order to cover a pending Maternity Leave. This post will be located within Reception, but we seek a TA who is able to work across the EYFS phase if needed.
We are seeking an individual who is energetic, enthusiastic and passionate with a positive work ethic who wishes to bring out the very best in our youngest pupils.
The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and one who has experience within a similar setting.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting with the planning and managing the day-to-day provision
- Working closely with the Early Years Lead Practitioner and Early Years Lead Teacher
- Providing a high quality, stimulating learning environment
- Communicating regularly with parents
- Ensuring the highest standards of safety and wellbeing

We are seeking candidates who:
- Hold a relevant NVQ Level 3 or above qualification
- Have recent and relevant experience within the EYFS phase
- Are highly motivated and enthusiastic about pupil’s learning
- Able to contribute to and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Able to inspire others and lead by example
- Able to demonstrate commitment to raising standards of teaching, learning and achievement
- Friendly, approachable and flexible
- Organised and have good interpersonal and communication skills
