EYFS/KS1 Tutor – Wokingham

Location: Wokingham – Home-Based Tuition

Hours: 10 hours per week

Contract: September – Lasting for the Full Academic Year

Pay: £25-£35 per hour PAYE, dependent on experience

The Role

Quantum Scholars are seeking an experienced EYFS/KS1 Tutor to provide 1:1 home-based tuition to a young individual in Wokingham.

The pupil is non-verbal, and the successful tutor will provide engaging, nurturing, and individualized learning through a play-based, child-initiated approach. You will work closely with the pupil to build their confidence, communication, engagement, and learning skills within a supportive environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and understands the importance of adapting learning to suit an individual child’s needs and interests.

The placement will run for the full academic year from September, with the potential for an extension depending on the success of the tuition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 EYFS/KS1 tuition within the pupil’s home.
  • Plan and deliver play-based, child-initiated learning activities tailored to the pupil’s individual needs and interests.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support a non-verbal learner.
  • Support the development of early communication, interaction, literacy, numeracy, and wider learning skills.
  • Create a calm, safe, and positive learning environment where the pupil feels comfortable and supported.
  • Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil and encourage their confidence and independence.
  • Use creative and practical activities to maintain engagement and encourage participation.
  • Monitor and record the pupil’s progress, identifying areas for development and adapting sessions accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and other professionals involved in the pupil’s education, where appropriate.
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold safeguarding and confidentiality requirements at all times.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
