The Role:
Join our Financial Assessments and Benefits Team as a customer-focused and organised Senior Administrative Assistant and help support some of Hampshire's most vulnerable residents.
As part of our friendly and supportive team, you'll play a vital role in administering financial assessments that determine how much clients are required to contribute towards the cost of their care services. Combining strong administrative skills with attention to detail and excellent customer service, you'll help ensure that assessments are processed accurately, efficiently, and sensitively.
What you’ll do:
- Contact clients by phone and email to book appointments for a team of Assessment Officers.
- Process financial assessment information, ensuring forms and supporting evidence are complete, accurate, and recorded in compliance with General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act requirements.
- Create, maintain, and update electronic client records throughout the assessment journey.
- Communicate with clients and colleagues by phone, email, and in writing, providing clear information and resolving queries.
- Record and communicate assessment outcomes, ensuring information is accurately maintained across care and financial systems.
- Support service delivery through monitoring officer safety, assisting with reassessments, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
What we’re looking for:
- A good standard of education, including GCSE Maths and English at Grade A* to C or 9 to 4, or equivalent, or numeracy and literacy to an equivalent standard.
- Strong administrative, organisational, and workload management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
- Good Microsoft Office, Teams, and general IT skills, with confidence using digital systems and technology.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-focused and professional approach.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, remaining calm under pressure, and committed to achieving high standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
