Job Purpose
Fabric Cleaning is the powerhouse of Unilever Home Care in the UK — our largest category and home to two iconic brands: Persil and Surf.
Persil, the #1 Fabric Cleaning brand in the UK, is one of the most recognised and trusted names in the market. Driven by its world-renowned “Dirt is Good” platform, Persil combines superior performance with purpose — inspiring people to get stuck into life without fear of getting dirty.
Surf, one of the UK’s biggest Home Care brands, wins with long-lasting fragrance, great value and a playful personality. As the #1 fragrance brand in UK Fabric Cleaning, Surf connects with consumers through emotion and sensorial superiority.
With capsules sitting at the heart of the future fabric cleaning growth agenda, this role will play a pivotal part in accelerating the growth of the format and driving consumers to trade up through brilliant execution, sharper portfolio choices and standout communication. The role will lead the full communications agenda for the Persil Non-Bio segment — bringing the proposition to life with clarity, energy and impact across every consumer and shopper touchpoint.
This is an exciting, high-visibility opportunity for a commercially sharp and growth-driven marketeer to shape one of the category’s most important premium growth engines, working closely with the Fabric Cleaning lead.
Responsibilities
- Own the Brand & Portfolio Capsules Strategy Growth – Help develop brand plans for Persil and Surf, identifying portfolio, pack, proposition and pricing opportunities that unlock growth.
- Lead the Persil Non-Bio Communications Plan – Drive the full comms agenda for the Persil Non-Bio big bet, turning strategy, global assets and connected content into a sharp, locally relevant plan that accelerates growth, drives trade-up and lands with impact across consumer and shopper touchpoints.
- Track Performance – Monitor business and campaign results to sharpen plans, improve execution and meet targets.
- Deliver Brilliant Execution – Work cross-functionally to ensure plans are connected, well-managed and delivered strongly in market.
- Bring Curiosity and Pace – Spot opportunities, test new ideas and manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Partner with Sales and CSP to Shape Channel Strategy, Expand Distribution and Drive Promotional and Shopper Excellence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
