Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £30,000-£32,000 dependent on experience

VIVO is looking for a dedicated Fabric Operative to join our growing team at RAF Croughton. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a forward-thinking organisation supporting the UK Defence estate while developing your career in a fast-growing joint venture.
About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving buildings and external works across RAF Croughton and Barford St Johns.

As a Fabric Operative, you will ensure facilities are safe, functional, and maintained to a high standard, supporting operational teams and Defence personnel across the site.
This is also a client-facing role where you will represent VIVO on site, so strong communication skills and a professional approach are essential.
The role involves carrying out a range of fabric maintenance and repair tasks including:
- Basic carpentry work
- Repairs to doors, floors, and ceilings
- Routine maintenance checks on building fabric items
- Minor plumbing checks and repairs on sinks and taps
- Painting touch-ups and general making good
- Fence repairs
- Support minor civil works where required
You will liaise with other trades to ensure work is completed efficiently and contribute to the clear communication of company objectives and procedures. The role also requires keeping up to date with industry developments and supporting improvements and innovation across the service.
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will have a proven background in fabric maintenance or building repairs and a strong understanding of building fabric works. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with a solid understanding of health and safety legislation. A full UK driving licence is required for this role. PASMA and IPAF certifications would be advantageous but are not essential. You will need to be able to pass SC Clearance to be eligible for this role.
