Fabric Sales Representative | Edmonton, North London | Full Time | £40,000–£45,000 OTE
With 140+ years of heritage, our client is a leading UK B2B fabric wholesaler, trusted by fabric retailers and manufacturers in the fashion, hobby and craft industries. The business is currently undergoing a bold rebrand and digital transformation to reshape the future of textile wholesale and elevate the customer experience.
The Role
Our client is looking for an ambitious, commercially driven Fabric Sales Representative to join their growing sales team.
This is a hands-on B2B sales role combining account management, face-to-face selling and new business development. The successful candidate will manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers while actively developing new opportunities across the UK.
The role will involve regular UK sales trips, with a minimum of 10 working days per month spent in the field attending pre-booked customer appointments, alongside occasional cold visits.
Approximately 50% of the role will focus on existing account management and upselling, with the remaining 50% focused on new business development, outbound sales and cold calling.
The role will be based on-site in Edmonton, North London, with regular UK travel and sales trips. The position will include one Sunday per month.
The role reports directly to the CEO, providing the successful candidate with direct access to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to make a real impact on the continued growth of the business.
Hours
- Monday–Thursday 9:00am–5:30pm
- Friday hours of 9:00am–4:30pm during summer and 9:00am–3:30pm during winter
- One Sunday per month, 8:30am–3:00pm, based in the office to support walk-in customers
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established portfolio of B2B customer accounts
- Build strong, long-term relationships and become a trusted commercial point of contact for customers
- Conduct regular customer visits and sales trips across the UK, presenting ranges and identifying opportunities to grow accounts
- Proactively generate new business, identifying and converting prospective customers
- Understand each customer's business, buying patterns and potential, and develop clear plans to increase sales
- Present new ranges, seasonal collections and commercial opportunities to customers
- Follow up quotations, samples, enquiries and opportunities with pace and persistence
- Identify opportunities to cross-sell and introduce customers to additional product categories
- Negotiate commercially while protecting margin and building sustainable customer relationships
- Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunities and follow-up activity
- Work closely with the Product team, sharing customer feedback, market intelligence and emerging product opportunities
- Take ownership of individual sales targets and contribute to the wider growth of the business
- Attend a minimum of 10 working days per month in the field attending pre-booked appointments
- Carry out occasional cold visits and outbound sales activity
- Build and develop a strong sales pipeline during the initial period, establishing relationships and opportunities before formal performance targets are introduced
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's products and customer base, with formal targets and KPIs becoming more applicable as the role becomes established

Requirements
Essential
- 2–3+ years of demonstrable success in B2B sales, ideally involving physical products, wholesale, textiles, fashion or a related industry (i.e. upholstery, furniture, leather etc)
- Experience selling a physical product through a traditional, relationship-led sales approach
- Confident and persuasive face-to-face salesperson who enjoys getting in front of customers
- Strong relationship-building and account-management skills
- Commercially sharp, target-driven and motivated by growth
- Proactive and comfortable generating new business rather than relying solely on inbound opportunities
- Strong outbound sales, cold calling and business development skills
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Hungry, driven and motivated by winning new business
- Coachable and comfortable taking feedback
- Personable and able to build genuine relationships with customers
- Fast learner with good common sense, professionalism and the ability to work independently
- Comfortable using CRM and digital sales tools
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel regularly for customer visits and sales trips

Desirable
- Previous experience within the fabric, textile, fashion, hobby or craft industries
- Experience within an adjacent physical-product sector such as upholstery, furniture, leather or similar
- Experience in wholesale or B2B physical product sales
