Help Shape the UK’s Energy Future
Fabrication Engineer Opportunity with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), Supporting Sizewell C
As part of the CWA (Civil Works Alliance), you will support the building of Sizewell C. Sizewell C will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and will play a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years. This role will be within the Marine and Tunnels Section.
What will you do?
The Fabrication Engineer will support the day-to-day management and oversight of fabrication activities associated with structural steel and mechanical fabrication packages within the Sizewell C Marine & Tunnels programme.
Working as part of the Marine & Tunnels Fabrication Delivery Team, the role will be predominantly based at supplier manufacturing facilities (primarily within the UK) to provide day-to-day oversight of fabrication activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to the required quality standards and in accordance with the agreed programme and project requirements.
Reporting to the Package Manager, the Fabrication Engineer will work closely with the fabricator, CWA engineering and quality teams, independent assurance bodies and other project stakeholders. The role will provide technical and delivery support during manufacture, monitor progress and quality compliance, and support the timely resolution of engineering and production issues.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
