LDH la doria is a leading supplier of ambient food products to major UK Supermarkets. Established for over 65 years we are the best in the business working in close relationships with all of our customers and meeting the highest of service targets.

Job Summary:

To carry out planned and reactive building fabric maintenance, repairs, and minor installation works across the site. The role involves maintaining the condition, safety, and appearance of the building and facility, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake general building fabric maintenance and repairs to the building.
  • Minor carpentry works including door furniture repairs and lock replacement.
  • General handyman tasks e.g. Installing shelving, signs, notice boards, furniture assembly and repairs.
  • Basic plumbing repairs such as replacing taps, fixing leaks, and clearing blocked toilets and drains.
  • Undertake pest-proofing installation and repairs around the building.
  • Perform painting and decorating tasks as required.
  • Replace vehicle wheel stops, restraints and other transport loading bay equipment.
  • Carry out small internal & external concrete floor repairs.
  • Assist the site facilities engineers in the maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of building fabric and report any defects.
  • Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and emergencies where required.
  • Assist in hoisting subcontractors around the facility when necessary.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and job reports through the company's maintenance management system.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Report hazards, near misses, accidents, and unsafe conditions.
  • Be on the call out rota for building alarms.
  • Undertake any inhouse and external training as needed to fulfil this role.

Skills & Experience: Essential

  • Experience in a Fabric Technician, Handyman, Maintenance Operative, or similar role.
  • Good knowledge of general building maintenance and repair techniques.
  • Experience in carpentry, painting and basic plumbing.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve building fabric issues.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills & Experience: Desirable

  • Trade qualifications in Carpentry, Building Maintenance, Construction or similar.
  • Experience working within a Facilities/ engineering team.
  • IPAF and/or PASMA certification.
