Wage
- £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices
- Minimum wage rates (opens in new tab)
- Pay will be reviewed upon performance and successful completion of apprenticeship

- Engineering operative (level 2)
Hours
- Details of working week. Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 17:00. Including one day spent at college on day-release.
- 40 hours a week

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
Your training and responsibilities as an Apprentice Fabricator/Welder, will include (but not be limited to) the following:
- Carry out welding activities including use of a MIG/TIG welder, and other ancillary machinery and equipment
- Creating complex plate fabrications, utilising machinery such as a band saw, circular saw guillotine, pillar drill
- Accurately follow job cards and update accordingly
- Understand and read engineering drawings/symbols
- Ensure correct marking up of component parts
- Work to quality standards required for the components and to maintain the ISO
- Weld joints in accordance with approved welding procedures and quality requirements (TIG, MIG)
- Undertake final inspections of finished components
- Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area for colleagues and yourself
- When trained, ensure job timings are met/exceeded.

Training schedule
The successful candidate will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists, RNN Group at their Rotherham campus on a day release format, giving you the training and support you need to become an all-rounded and successful Engineer.
Desirable qualifications
- GCSE in:
- Maths & English (grade A*-C/9-4)
- Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

They are looking for someone who can get there in a morning punctually (think about the location of the business and transport links), listen/learn and use their own initiative to quickly become a valued and productive member of the team.
Established in 2015, Craft Form are specialist engineers able to work with ferrous and non-ferrous, as well as Stainless Steel metals to produce fabrications, repairs, or the execution of bespoke projects. They operate a team of fully trained and qualified technical welding staff, many with specialist knowledge and many years of experience between them.
