Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Fabricator role based in North Shields. The Fabricator will interpret technical drawings, measure and mark out materials, and carry out cutting, forming, and assembly of components in mild steel, aluminium, and stainless steel. Daily tasks include:

- Operating fabrication equipment (such as saws, presses, and welding tools)
- Fitting and finishing parts to specification
- Performing quality checks to ensure accuracy and structural integrity

The role involves maintaining a safe and organized work area, collaborating with colleagues on complex builds, and supporting continuous improvement in fabrication processes. The Fabricator may also assist with installation, repairs, and modifications as required by project demands.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in metal fabrication, including work with mild steel, aluminium
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical plans, and measurements, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in common fabrication techniques (e.g., cutting, bending, drilling, welding, and assembly) and safe use of workshop tools and machinery.
- Solid understanding of workplace health and safety practices, including PPE, manual handling, and safe equipment operation.
- Good problem-solving skills, ability to identify and correct fabrication issues, and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with reliability and the ability to work independently when required.
- Formal training or apprenticeship in fabrication, welding, or a related trade is highly beneficial; relevant certifications are an advantage.
- Willingness to learn new techniques, adapt to different projects, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
