The Vacancy

Build with precision. Fabricate with purpose. Help deliver the future of UK infrastructure.

WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is looking for an experienced Fabricator to join our Off-Site Engineering team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role will be based at our Livingston Service Centre and will work a 37.5-hour week, Monday to Thursday from 7.30am to 4.00pm and Friday from 7.30am to 1.00pm.

You will support the manufacture, modification and refurbishment of fabricated metalwork, engineering components and assemblies used across WGM's growing UK water, utilities and infrastructure portfolio.

This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering business where your practical skills, attention to detail and commitment to quality will make a direct contribution to essential infrastructure projects across the UK.

WGM Engineering is experiencing significant growth across the UK, delivering critical infrastructure projects across the water, utilities and infrastructure sectors. As part of RSK Group, we combine the scale and support of a wider group with the practical, hands-on approach of a specialist engineering delivery business.

Our Off-Site Engineering team supports safer, more efficient project delivery by manufacturing, assembling, refurbishing and testing equipment within a controlled workshop environment. We are focused on building long-term capability, strengthening our teams and creating opportunities for people to develop meaningful engineering careers.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications and work instructions.
  • Mark out, cut, shape, drill, grind, form, fit and assemble fabricated metal components.
  • Manufacture and refurbish structures, frames, skids, brackets, pipework assemblies and other engineering components.
  • Prepare materials and components for welding, inspection, coating or final assembly.
  • Check dimensions, alignment, fit-up and overall quality against required tolerances.
  • Identify and report drawing discrepancies, defects, material issues or technical concerns.
  • Complete job sheets, inspection records and workshop documentation accurately.
  • Work safely, maintain a clean workshop and contribute to improvements in quality, safety and productivity.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Previous fabrication experience within an engineering, manufacturing, construction or industrial environment.
  • A recognised trade apprenticeship, vocational qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings.
  • Practical experience marking out, cutting, preparing, fitting and assembling metal components.
  • Ability to use engineering measuring equipment and workshop machinery safely and accurately.
  • Understanding of dimensional tolerances, alignment, fit-up and fabrication quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and a commitment to safe working.
  • Ability to work independently, manage allocated tasks and contribute effectively as part of a workshop team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
