Role Description
This is a full-time, primarily based from the company’s workshop, however from time to time will be expected to carry out the duties of a Fabricator, Pipe Fitter, Welder on site. The role involves reading and interpreting engineering drawings, process diagrams, and specifications to fabricate and install mechanical process equipment and pipework. Day-to-day tasks include cutting, forming, and welding materials, assembling pipe systems, fitting valves and instruments, and ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The role includes working on pressure vessel fabrication, on-site installations, and assisting with the testing and commissioning of equipment. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers and other team members, maintain a safe and orderly work environment, and contribute to continuous improvement of fabrication and installation processes.

- Strong fabrication skills, including measuring, cutting, forming, and assembling metal components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in welding processes, primarily TIG, with the ability to produce high-quality welds on a range of materials and thicknesses in various positions.
- Pipe fitting experience, including layout, preparation, installation, and alignment of pipework, valves, and associated mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication details, with solid mechanical understanding and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of workshop and site safety practices, including safe use of tools, lifting equipment, and compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
- Completed relevant apprenticeship or vocational training in fabrication, welding, or pipe fitting, or equivalent practical experience in a similar industrial environment.
- Good problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and flexibility to adapt to different projects and site conditions.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage, energy, utilities, or heavy industry environments is beneficial, as is familiarity with pressure vessel fabrication and installation.
- Relevant or present welding codes preferable, but not a definitive requirement.
