Job Role - Fabricator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fabricator to join an established industrial business based in Carlisle.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Fabricator looking for a permanent days-based position, working within a busy industrial environment alongside an experienced engineering and maintenance team.

You will be responsible for carrying out fabrication, welding, repair and modification work on a range of industrial machinery, equipment and structural components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fabrication and welding work on industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Fabricate, repair and modify steel components and structures.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, drill and shape materials accurately.
  • Carry out MIG/MAG welding and other welding techniques where required.
  • Complete planned and reactive fabrication work.
  • Carry out repairs and modifications to machinery and equipment.
  • Work closely with the engineering and maintenance teams to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within required timescales.
  • Maintain a safe and organised working environment.
  • Follow all company health and safety procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Fabricator, Welder/Fabricator or similar.
  • Strong fabrication and welding experience.
  • Experience working within an industrial or heavy engineering environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Competent MIG/MAG welding skills.
  • Good understanding of steel fabrication techniques.
  • Strong practical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working with heavy industrial machinery.
  • MMA/ARC welding experience.
  • Structural steel fabrication experience.
  • Mechanical or hydraulic knowledge.
