Vulcan Offshore Ltd is a specialist design and engineering company who serves customers in the subsea Geotechnical and Geophysical sectors. Using our engineering, fabrication/welding, and CNC machining skills we serve the offshore, marine, renewables, and manufacturing industries. Vulcan Offshore focuses on delivering high-quality products that meet demanding industry standards and client specifications.

Role Description

The Fabricator Welder role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Southampton Area. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Preparing and measuring materials
  • Carrying out high-quality fabrication and welding tasks to project specifications
  • Operating workshop equipment
  • Performing basic grinding and cutting processes
  • Ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and efficiency standards
  • Collaborating with colleagues and supervisors to meet production schedules
  • Conducting inspections of completed work
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace

  • Strong fabrication and welding skills in MIG solid wire and fluxcore
  • Experience with TIG is an advantage but not essential
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to produce accurate fabricated components
  • Proficiency in using workshop tools and equipment such as cutting machines and grinders
  • Sound understanding of health and safety practices in a fabrication environment, with a commitment to safe working procedures
  • Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards
